Job Description:

The Foster Care Supervisor collaborates with DCFS to provide appropriate casework services to individuals and families in the Foster Care Program, and directs the activities of a Foster Care team in the Sparta, IL satellite office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Directs continuous Quality Improvement of the Foster Care Programs by assuring that caseworkers are following proper procedures for program evaluation.
• Provides necessary program evaluations and reports as required.
• Reviews client records of caseworkers to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards.
• Supervises Foster Care Team by providing necessary consultation/supervision with caseworkers.
• Directs those supervised in the assignment of cases and work schedules.
• Ensures daily service hours, expense sheets and itineraries are accurate and consistent.
• Manages Foster Care Team including monitoring monthly billing reports from finance departments (making adjustments as necessary) and relates to the DCFS contract liaisons as appropriate.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Masters Degree in Social Work or a closely related Human Services field. Illinois Child Welfare License. Two years of experience working with children and/or families.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from those served, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies. Ability to effectively present information to management, and public groups.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Strong computer proficiencies are essential; must possess strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including client database software.

This position requires availability to work nights, weekends and holidays on an “on call” basis.

OTHER: Must have vehicle, licensed to drive and auto insurance to transport clients.
